You can see a solid number of cards over a few turns, and if the creature paired with the Lookout is offed, you can just team up with another creature that arrives on your table

For example, if the card you put into the graveyard is also a creature, your opponent is going to become very worried about what the 2/2 in play might be
What you cannot do is rely on them to provide that influx of cards, if you know you really want to fill up the hand and you are running out of slots then perhaps these walkers are not the best option
You can even get ahead of it by playing two lands a turn (which you may draw, given how many extra cards its drawing you, if you are doing it right)
