The dice are cool and the lore tracker is a bonus
While his stats are beefy, hes still a vanilla card with no effect, so hes not very popular among players, but he does still get some fringe play in certain Steel decks because, at the end of the day, big stats are big stats, and its nice to have a big dude to play if the game goes long

Neither of the lands do anything with the type, but in the past this has been used with types like Gates(in Battle For Baldurs Gate and Foundations ), Deserts (most recently in Outlaws of Thunder Junction ), and several other times
There is an argument to be made about the Final Aeon possession also being part of this mechanic, but I am not really so sure
