Kraum, Ludevics Opus Kraum, Ludevic's Opus draws a card whenever an opponent casts their second spell each turn, making it great at punishing decks that try to double spell or trade resources quickly
Here you exile three and they are playable just on your turn, but that ability to make mana equal to the card count in your foe's hand can help you with that this turn
Notably, this mana must be spent before going to your draw step, or else it empties from your pool
That way you can protect your cards from unexpected blizzards or frozen blasts
It will be slightly awkward to play these cards in conjunction with old werewolves like Huntmaster of the Fells, but I do believe that the execution of the mechanic is cleaner and this is a fine cost to pay
In a format that does not have a great counterspell at 2 mana, Absorb is the best 3 mana counterspell as the 3 life goes a long way in a control deck
