Playing a character with Bodyguard allows you to divert your opponents focus from these weaker characters so they can quest for longer and generate more Lore
I like it the best in blue/green Town decks because that deck can splash other colors easily and doesnt care about giving them a token (a token thats way more of a liability in this format due to all the decent equipment)
There's so much looting and rummaging that you get to churn through your deck quickly, reducing variance and making sure you find the cards you need (and discarding the ones you don't) reliably, WITH ONE MAJOR EXCEPTION (see The Bad) It's very consistent
The game will release expansions as "chapters," with the first chapter arriving with three different starter decks to play with
There was a lot of freedom in this approach, while trying to stick closely to the original designs
Plus, Kuzco doesnt even need to exert to trigger his effect, and with Evasive, hes a slippery little menace your opponents will struggle to pin down
