Description

Made in the early 20th century it can be hung as wall decoration and would suit most interiors

Some surface losses to silk embroidery with an overall patina of age with some marks

Hand woven in Japan it has a fairly stiff structure which would have kept its shape well when worn

From France they have a look and feel of earlier hand block printed chintzes but these have been screen printed at a later time and we think they date from around 1930

wall or door hanging

Collection Silver Lamé Lace Samples Boats 2: C1900 France Indian tribal jewellery Made in the early 20thDating from the late 19th early 20th century two silver thread lam lace panels on their original sample card. From the archive of Leon Geotz & Fils, France. These are handmade to the highest quality and are based on 17th century designs. Each of the samples are different: these feature boats with sails and flags, and figures within temples motifs. There is one wider panels and one narrower infill panel. These would be great for an interior design
