Frongoch James Nicholson Size:M116 Once commonly grown in ornamentalA lightly sweet Welsh cider apple with good tannins. Small and mostly round green apples with a red streaking flush and little russet. Found growing in an old orchard with other varieties near Frongoch Farm near Aberystwyth. Brought to the attention of Danny Thorogood at Aberystwyth University by Paul Evans who lived on the farm and remembered the tree from his childhood. Danny propagated the tree and planted it out at the university's heritage
