The other strong composition that I wanted to achieve was strong bands of colour across the piece each with its own single colour

The frame is solid wood with a limed (off white) colour

they could be mistaken for rocks but squint your eyes and you can pick them out in the hazy sun against the water reflections

This takes Barry back to his college days in Magee and he has even managed to squeeze in the house on Queen Street where he used to live. The hills are captured in a childlike way where they seem to go on forever into the sky and the walls in a way where they wrap the city centre. The vibrant blues and movement in the colour capture the scale and majestic splendour
